some time ago, we tracked our *.opensuse.org pages with google analytics. We dropped this feature for various reasons now, but it would be nice to have an alternative for our website statistics.
I've setup a test instance of piwik[1] at: https://features.opensuse.org/piwik/index.php Read-only username: boosters, password: opensuse
This instance is tracking only openfate at the moment. What do you think of it, should we use it for all our sites and set it up in our infrastructure?
Yes this is the plan and I have a VM for that already. We just need to figure out how to deploy/maintain this in a way that it scales for all our pages. This was on my TODO by I wouldn't mind if you take over :)
Roman is also working on setting this up, and will take over. The vm provided by darix for this is beans.opensuse.org with the mysql database on mysql-opensuse.suse.de. (ssh -p2215 root@proxy-opensuse) We still need to request a SSL certificate for this host, so it can be used from our https sites without triggering a browser warning I think.
