Starting with a whole file called autoinst.xml I cut out (without any changes) the bootloader section to copy it into another file called bootloader.xml. This one is included through the rules concept which works fine for other configuration items. If I don't include the bootloader.xml not right at the beginning GRUB is not configured! Man, that was quite hard to find out (first I used classes and met the same failure).
that's very strange. Actually, the order of the elements does not matter. Send me the rules.xml that does not work, the bootloader.xml and the autoinst.xml + your y2log file via personal mail please. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nuernberg, Germany Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug now playing Fractured - One More Time
