hmm. Referring to: http://yast.suse.com/autoinstall/sles8/html/invoking.html#Invoking.HTTP
The MAC address feature was not in SLES8.
So the questions is, why the MAC address feature is documented in http://yast.suse.com/autoinstall/sles8/autoyast2-sles8.pdf????
I don't know. There are two options that I see here. Either the PDF is wrong and the HTML is right or the PDF is right and the MAC address documentation is missing in the HTML. If the latter case it true, then there is a problem with detecting the MAC address of your NIC. That would explain the empty GET request that we saw in your access log file. Maybe that was the request with the MAC address based filename but the MAC address string was empty? Do you have another NIC from another vendor that you could try? It might also help to take a look at /var/log/YaST2/y2log after the fetching of the profile failed (go to console with STRG+ALT+F2 for that, there should be a root shell). Maybe there is some information at the end of the file that points us to what autoyast is doing. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert, Server Technologies Team SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, D-90409 Nürnberg, Germany e-mail: uwe.gansert@suse.de, Tel: +49-(0)911-74053-0, Fax: +49-(0)911-74053-476, Web: http://www.suse.de
