I am liking this second one very much. It adds a bit of mystery that will hopefully generate good attention and chatter out there about the elections. I'd like to recommend changing the background though. It is too similar to the current one we are using and people might not notice the change when we update the banners next week around the web. I'd go for a darker, more mysterious (but not scary) color (whatever that is.) Something that draws people in and they feel the need to click on the banner and learn more about what's happening in openSUSE Project. It should be suspenseful because that's exactly the feeling that happens in any election. Also, size is a challenge on the current banner. Can we make something that fits 850x315px? (That's facebook timeline cover size) and should work well for the other sites. We reduced the size of the current banners and that degraded some quality. (Sorry!) :-) Many thanks Victorhck! Alternatively you can make use of elements of the current release artwork, but imho for things like that it's better to have something more generic. Greets Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

I believe victorhck used the background from 12.2 for the "Meet the candidates" banner that we have up and running now. (see www.opensuse.org if you haven't seen it yet.) I wanted something that was noticably different when we update the banner next week with the new banner. If you could help with some of the colors, that'd be great. I'm not sure I'm wild about the red that victorhck is using now, but I'm no color coordinator. :-) Bryen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

sorry for my english... I didn't understand that... And yes, I used the official background of openSUSE 12.2, and with the last one I just turn in red...

I'm agree with the logo, but with red background the official logo looks very bad, so I turn a bit darker... and with the rest colours, well sometimes is good to shake a bit the rules!! ;) And here are the .xfc files and pictures of candidates if anyone else wanna play!! ;) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ea5c2w7gpp6mqfn/FgzXe0AOAP -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Victor.
Maybe the pics of the members just a bit bigger? There's a lot empty and not used space in the banner... and the 2 Mr. unkonw members maybe a bit smaller?
just my opinion...

I believe that it would be indeed better to put all the pictures together. At this moment it looks like that the board has two sides. Especially since that Vincent Untz (Gnome) is on one side and Will Stephenson (KDE) is on the other side. Maybe a bit far fetched, but we might want to prevent some strange thoughts on this one ? Especially since that one board candidate already indicated to bring the Gnome and KDE teams closer together. Just my five cents. I believe that both teams have already proven this during the current development cycle. Both teams collaborated excellent on getting both KDE and Gnome ConsoleKit free. At this moment I don't think that there is any rivalness between the two teams. I had seen the ;), but I just wanted to emphasize on it as that I found it very strange to see this on the program of one of the board candidates. So to make sure I made that statement :-) I still know how to have fun. If not, then I wouldn't be an openSUSE community member that puts a lot of time in helping out. Yep, very nice indeed. Only remark: the text doesn't have enough contrast IMHO, especially on the left. And maybe we need to use something else than fifthleg, it looks rather unpolished, also because it's monospace I guess. I have increased the contrast, but I would prefer to stick with FifthLeg, as it's a unique font, once specially designed for oS. We can of course think about a refresh of the fontset in the near future. You can browse around here: https://www.google.com/webfonts
To download the TTF file, do this: curl 'http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Signika'
You will then get the URL of the font, e.g. for Signika: http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/signika/v3/ShL_W4dvX9R2li-O...
Those fonts are all under the SIL Open Font License, kind of MIT/BSD for fonts ;) http://scripts.sil.org/OFL
Does this allow packaging in the distribution, as it may be sold in form of boxes?
There is a short notice on that:
"Neither the Font Software nor any of its individual components, in Standard or Modified Version, may be sold by itself."
but I am not sure if that's only valid if you are trying to sell the font on it's own.
Would be my assessment too, but IANAL just like you. We should probably pass that through legal to make sure (I CC'd Jürgen, he has quite a lot of clue in that area :)). I'd bet we already ship other fonts that are under the SIL OFL though. Jürgen, any idea about Open Font License? cheers -- -o) Pascal Bleser /\\ http://opensuse.org -- we haz green _\_v http://fosdem.org -- we haz conf

Maybe the pics of the members just a bit bigger? There's a lot empty and not used space in the banner... and the 2 Mr. unkonw members maybe a bit smaller?
just my opinion...
I have tried to put the message into the front. That's why I decided to keep the images relatively small.

I'm not sure I'm wild about the red that victorhck is using now, but I'm no color coordinator. :-)
It is a bit screaming, but it is different. I'm tired of people insisting on few Bento colors that are meant for something, but for sure not for all possible graphics. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-artwork+owner@opensuse.org
