Hi
Please welcome our newest ambassador Steban. Here is a bit more about him in his own words.
* What have you done already for openSUSE?
I have spoken to users of other systems on openSUSE, result? All are now active users of openSUSE.
* What are your plans for promoting openSUSE? Please tell us what you want to do the next 6 months.
I am currently building a distro based on openSUSE 11.3, to be applied to educational robotics. This will be used and distributed in an educational network in my city for all students, thus facilitating the study of robotics, programming and project planning. Is currently of interest in the city, the robotics project with Linux. All this using SUSE Studio.
* Are you ready to start promoting openSUSE?
I'm already promoting, plus I have a friend in the country of Paraguay who is interested in representing openSUSE, this after a conversation we had.
* What do you think is the best kept secret of openSUSE?
no where I saw people who work with joy and organizations like openSUSE, this I saw in Latinoware 2010.
* Why do you love to do this?
Because this way I'll be helping my people to open their minds, and to demonstrate that everyone can do what me and you, no matter their shortcomings, the project I am developing based on openSUSE 11.3 is for use by everyone! My project is suitable for accessibility for people with some kind of deficiency.
* How did you start with with Linux/openSUSE? What is your level of experience?
I am trained in systems engineering, digital electronics technician, I use linux to 8 years. I have LPIC 2, actively work with FOSS communities, represent and help the Fedora Project as ambassador. Present lectures and seminars on Linux, open source and its functionality for Professional and business at local events. Today I work in an educational network that handles 4 cities of Brazil, where we are planning and developing educational robotics projects using electronic garbage to create tiny robots.
End.
Steban, dude, another Brazilian on the team, welcome :D
