I would like to see a checkbox for disabling 64bit on format partition to type EXT4 running Yast2 storage. The window is a relatively small 491px tall on a 1050px tall screen, so another option should easily fit. Mke2fs's ^64bit option would not be memorable for use as arbitrary option value even if there were such a field in this window (as exists for fstab options). Most of my installations are modest size, meaning / partitions are no more than 20GB, most less than 8GB. I can't imagine 64 bit being helpful in these small filesystems. Mon Jun 20 2016 jack@suse.cz committed upstream's update to e2fsprogs 1.43.1, which from changelog reads: * Mke2fs will now create file systems with the metadata_csum and 64bit features enabled by default All my installations are in multiboot, so for compat reasons I use Grub, which cannot access EXT4 with 64bit, or BTRFS, and why I stick to extX filesystems. Because of 64bit, I now must format in advance of starting OS installation. This I usually do, but it would be nice to have Yast able to do this so that I am not forced to restart installation when I have forgotten to format in advance. I can file a fate or bug for this if this looks doable to anyone here. WDYT? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
