This is well-known and old-standing limitation of yast2-ncurses. It
performs very badly when it comes to large lists/tables. It could be
somehow better with recent patches o'mine (in Factory) but - still not
perfect :( Unfortunately, I've been unable to find a solution how to
speed things up when I was maintaining yast2-ncurses ...

I'm still in preparations for the first hardware installation of Factory.
VBox one is slow by itself and there is no point to attempt any test.

Related bug, maybe worth reopening:

Maybe opening a new bug would be better :-)

The problem I can see is probably due to attempt to handle whole list at
once and then show result. I don't know what design limitations you had,
but creating buffer with a whole list and then pull on the screen just
selection of it that fits in the designated screen area should be much

2) Shift TAB doesn't go backwards through the frames.

That is very unusual ... could be that your terminal or DE "eats" this
key combination. If it does not work in any other YaST module, try
Esc-Tab instead, or use Ctrl-F (forward) and Ctrl-B (backwards) to jump
between the widgets.

It is KDE 4.2.2 and problem is only in GUI terminal (Konsole).
I found out that in the last second when I came on idea that it could be
console related :-)
Stano's post marked only the last of 3 questions as possible valid bug,
which made me think why first 2 not. I don't use YaST-ncurses very often,
and it took time to come on idea to switch to text mode (Ctrl-Alt-F2) and
try there.

I was just commenting on the last one - sorry for confusion. I did not mean
the first 2 were invalid or anything else.
