Code reuse. Onlt builtins can have variable types.

Don't understand what you mean here. Every function can have types of
variables defined. Implementing the very same code in YCP should be pretty
easy.

Not "types of variables" but "types that can vary".
Arvin means the analogy of C++ templates, called "flex" types
internally in libycp.
