Erhm... i just made a fool out of myself. I had copied an old config and forgot the VideoRAM setting in there, limiting the RAM xorg could use to 20MB :-/ Well, now that this works. here the next problem: When switching to console (non-fb, plain VGA text mode) everything works fine. When going back to X, the machine freezes completely. Checked with both, radeonhd 1.3.0 release, and current git.
