Hi, When switching modes using Ctrl+Alt+Keypad-Plus or Ctrl+Alt+Keypad-Minus the screen goes to some strange color with nothing displayed and no pointer. Using Ctrl+Alt+Fn and back to the virtual terminal used by X server restores the display using the new video mode (resolution). Key Sequence is: Result: Mode is 1600x1200 (initial condition) Ctrl+Alt+Keypad-Plus Blank Screen Ctrl+Alt+F1 Terminal display (typically a login prompt) Alt+F7 Screen is displaying the desktop with mode 1280x1024 Here is some information I hope is useful: O/S: openSUSE-release-11.2-1.6.i586 Desktop: gnome-desktop-2.28.0-2.4.i586 X server: xorg-x11-server-7.4-61.63.1.i586 X video driver: xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.3.0_20091026_8b89b9-1.1.1.i586 root# uname -a Linux aurora 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT 2009-12-15 23:55:40 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux root# lspci | grep -i radeon 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] I hope this is sufficient information for making a correction.
