Hi Rafal, i am currently trying to get kms and all this neat 3d stuff up and running on my test machine and yes i'm planing to get hdmi audio integrated into kms (it's only logical to do the audio/hdmi setup together with crtc programming). But as usually my time is very limited in the next two month (like every year i'm facing an xmas change freeze starting in mid November and every body is trying to get my time to implement stuff for them). And there are still other thing on the todo list, like figuring out why the heck the RV730 chipset still doesn't work... If anybody wants to get his hands dirty with kernel stuff, just leave me a note and i am happy to help, but can't promise anything right now. Bye, Christian. We have some more-or-less experimental R6xx/R7xx KMS prepared for mainline merging: http://airlied.livejournal.com/68097.html
I wonder if someone could port our (radeonhd's) HDMI code to KMS to let it play audio over HDMI?
Probably the best person for that would be Christian. Christian: do you have time to play with that? Are you interested in this task? If no, is there someone else feeling to port this?
