The output for my laptop (Lenovo T60 model 2007-fug, running OpenSUSE 10.3RC1 with fbdev driver) with vga monitor attached does NOT list 'RHD_DDC_0' in the DDC: line.

Yeah, DDC seems to have some problems still. Ruediger has identified that his laptops DDC bus is missing after a fresh boot, and present after a resume.
