I'm still on 13.1 but I disabled packagekit not long after installing over two years ago. I'm using YaST Software Management's Show History dialog to take a look now. There was a day a couple of months after install where all the following were deleted:
PackageKit-browser-plugin PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin PackageKit-gtk3-module apper-lang apper libpackagekit-qt2-6 PackageKit-branding-openSUSE PackageKit-backend-zypp PackageKit
I don't know which amongst them triggered the rest to be uninstalled. I guess try deleting apper and PackageKit first.
PackageKit seems to be on the GTK side of things, apper on the KDE. I do note that removing PackageKit also removes 'gnome-color-manager'. Why that is makes no sense to me. I've run into a few of these pointless, unjustifiable dependencies in the past and expect to do so in the future. I also note that t the GitHub for 'gnome-color-manager' a change explicitly says " Don't depend on software we are not using". That's for the "build", mind you. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
