What does checking the output 'zypper dup' have to do with 'zypper ve' telling me I should either deinstall/break the package? I diidn't exec 'zypper dup' for the upgrade, I'm checking with it like I was told to do.
Who told you to use 'zypper dup'? What was the reason/explanation?
'zypper ve' reports a problem. Why is that problem being reported, and what do you do to FIX it?
I can think of a number of reasons why, the most obvious being that you have an inconsistency and an update OR a de-install would remove that inconsistency. A RTFM makes it very clear: <quote> verify (ve) [options] Check whether dependencies of installed packages are satisfied. In case that any dependency problems are found, zypper suggests packages to install or remove to fix them. </quote> Supposing you want to retain the package, I would suggest that you do a zypper up Only use 'dup' if a) you are using evergreen and the 'three repositories' setup b) you are doing an upgrade of the OS version (e.g. 13.1 to 13.2 and following the instructions about editing your respositires etc according to the Wiki page. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
