This is what I am thinking, An openSUSE member of the AD. I did not
think there would be any AD support in SAMBA beyond authentication.
But I want to be sure I am not missing something obvious. I think I
will look at the libgpo mentioned in an earlier post in this thread.
More out of curiosity than anything else.

In the office, our openSUSE machines join the Windows Active Directory. This works great and allows one to log in using the AD credentials. Not that we use that. But it works great. My question here is how much more we could use from the AD in Linux. I know that if SAMBA is a domain controller, it can serve group policy files to clients. But is there anything SAMBA as a client can do with Group Policies? I am thinking things like mapping shared drive or printers. I only seem to see (or recognize) this discussion in the context of a SAMBA controller, not as a client.
I am not sure what "But is there anything SAMBA as a client can do with Group Policies?" + "I only seem to see (or recognize) this discussion in the context of a SAMBA controller" means.
I am going to assume you mean openSUSE as a workstation/desktop in an Active Directory domain. In that case the answer is No, Samba4 doesn't do anything. Management would have to be built into the DE [GNOME, etc..].
