See, I don't think dhcpcd should be running At ALL. Its not on my machine, it has nothing in /var/lib/dhcpcd for it's pid.
If I launch System Monitor, and look at the Process Table and type dhcpcd in the search field it shows nothing, but if I type dhclient it is running.
(set the pull-down to all processes tree, and you can see that dhclient is started byt network manager, which in turn is started by systemd)
I wonder if this isn't being started by some historical artifact of your prior struggles.
The two laptops discussed are both fresh 13.2 installs, no priors. And the only changes network wise amounts to enabling/disabling wicked/NM. The working acer is just packed and going to Memphis with me early tomorrow for my GrandSon's Club Soccer attending a ShowCase Tournament. The dell that requires baby-sitting-handling is staying behind :^). But I will ssh into my home server for mail and continuing this conversation. tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
