You connect all the computers to the router, and the print server to the router also. The output of the print server, which will be usb or parallel printer connection (or both, most likely) will go to the printer. You never turn off the router or the print server, or the printer, but you can turn off any computer and print from the remaining one(s). You may have a problem accessing the printer thru the print server if you are trying to do it from Windows.
