That's fine but since I have selected the settings as POP3 with the option "Keep a copy in Inbox" (that is, in server) as checked so that even if I delete some mail on KMail, it still resides in Gmail..... Though I see IMAP if it would be more beneficial.....
When You upgrade (for example to 13.1), Your mails are kept (as any other data). If You'd delete all Akonadi data (there KMail stores mails), it would be downloaded again. But if You just upgrade and keep old home dir, asi with any other software (Firefox, ...), old data are kept. But of course, it is better to have backup. ;-)
