[06-07-13 13:18]: This is driving me nuts. I have an Opensuse system I use as a mythfrontend. How the heck to you stop screen blanking on Opensuse 12.2 running gnome? I've tried every setting I can find that has to do with power or screen saver, yet after about 20 mins it the screen starts to fade to black/blank. Hitting a key on the remote does nothing to stop the blanking, I have to physically hit a key on the keyboard attached to the system.
Any help is appreciated. And maybe the "screen blanking" is not coming from your operating system but from the bios. Check your bios settings.
xset commands didn't work. As far as I can tell the energy savings in the BIOS are disabled. I installed xcfe and after disabling the screen saver and changing the power settings I think it's good. Never tried xfce before, but so far I like it. Thanks, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
