Hi, I did a fresh install of OpenSuse 12.1 on a Dell PowerEdge 1900, after thed I used the Yast ad made a full update. On this machine we have two e1000 cards being detected as eth0 and eth1 and a Broadcom NetXtreme as eth2. During the boot, after making the fdisk the system is hanging for about 5 minutes, I changed the initdefault value from level 5 to 3 to be able to check what was going on. I could see that the network initialization is hanging, I even deleted the Vlan configuration but the issue remains. Below are some entries I could find on the log: Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus network[811]: ..done eth0 device: Intel Corporation 82572EI Gigabit Ethernet Co Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus ifup: eth0 device: Intel Corporation 82572EI Gigabit Ethernet Co Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus kernel: [ 12.669859] e1000e 0000:07:00.0: irq 72 for MSI/MSI-X Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus kernel: [ 12.722335] e1000e 0000:07:00.0: irq 72 for MSI/MSI-X Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus kernel: [ 12.724000] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus ifup: eth0 Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus ifup: IP address: 172.31.0.22/24 Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus network[811]: eth0 IP address: 172.31.0.22/24 Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus ifup: Feb 22 16:50:12 zeus avahi-daemon[877]: Joining mDNS multicast group on interface eth0.IPv4 with address 172.31.0.22. Thinking this issue was related to the kernel I installed the kernel version 2.6.37.6-101-desktop and tested again. The results were the same. Please is there anything I can do to fix this issue?
