Did you install "Chrome" from Google? Or "Chromium" from the distro? I have Chromium here and there's a "wrench" icon, near the top right, which brings up settings. As for default browser, you can simply open the browser you want to be default and use it to claim "default" status. Another way is "Default Applications" in Personal Settings.
Which repo is chromium in? All I get is
13:15 bob@barrowhillfarm:~> sudo zypper se chromium Loading repository data... Reading installed packages...
S | Name | Summary | Type --+-----------------+-----------------------------------------------------------+-----------
| chromium-ffmpeg | The ffmpeg lib for Google's opens source browser Chromium | package | chromium-ffmpeg | The ffmpeg lib for Google's opens source browser Chromium | srcpackage
It's in the oss repo. Be aware that the "chromium" is an unstable version of chrome. I tried it and had many problems that I don't have with the stable version of chrome.
Thank you.
