Well, the thing is, on my desktop I have changed the profile multiple times as an ordinary user without any problem. It is only on this installation on this laptop that it doesn't work.
In the directory /usr/share/kde4/apps/konsole it has all the different color schemes listed. I don't need to change any of those color schemes. On the konsole menu when you go to the settings menu and go settings -> configure profiles -> edit (select the shell), and then click on the appearance tab, that is where you select one of the color schemes which is listed in the above directory. On my desktop I can freely change these color schemes and adjust the font size there, and it is no problem. On my laptop, no matter which color scheme I select, it does not apply the change, and it is always green on black with 9 pt font.
I always make my Konsole4 appearance change via right click in the window -> configure current profile, not by going into the Konsole's menu.
Whoever dreamed up using a green prompt on a black background for the default should be forced to use only an 11" or smaller screen at 1280x800 or higher resolution, and from at least a meter away from his face.
Great - that worked! I wonder why the other method didn't work? So yes, now I can use konsole. Thanks for your help!! George -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
