Dunno, but try to ignore the autodetection and add the printer anyway.
That's what I did with mine in the past, it was never detected.

In the meantime I found the reason. The lp module is not loaded at boot time
YaST can not detect the printer. It's discussed in opensuse forum.
This is the first SUSE/openSUSE release which could not detect a parallel
IMHO such a change should have been mentioned in the release notes at least.


In particular

If there is still a need to get this "par port printing doesn't work"
addressed from inside YaST one has to file a request in openFATE.

Added the reference to as any of you
could have done this too.
