Guys, Aside from the document spacing issue with Libre, I am experiencing a bizarre printing issue with Libre as well. For some strange reason, I have to hit the print button TWICE before a document will print. First time the print button is pressed - nothing -- the hp laserjet 4100n just sits there idle. Hit print for the second time and -- presto, the printer springs to life just like it should. I have tried printing from other apps in kde kate/kwrite/kpdf, etc.. and everything prints on the first click of the print button. But... not with Libre. Any ideas about what could be causing this? The printer itself is a 4100n attached to the network via the HPDirect network controller that is built into the printer. It is configured via cups on the network server at work and prints fine for everything except libre. The printer has a fixed IP of 192.168.7.21 and the /etc/cups/printers.conf on the server 'phoenix' is: # Printer configuration file for CUPS v1.4.6 # Written by cupsd on 2011-04-15 12:42 # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE WHEN CUPSD IS RUNNING <Printer dcr4100n> AuthInfoRequired none Info HP Laserjet 4100n Location David Office MakeModel HP LaserJet 4100 Foomatic/Postscript DeviceURI socket://192.168.7.21 State Idle StateTime 1302889341 Reason toner-low-report Type 8400916 Filter application/vnd.cups-raw 0 - Filter application/vnd.cups-postscript 100 foomatic-rip Filter application/vnd.cups-pdf 0 foomatic-rip Accepting Yes Shared Yes JobSheets none none QuotaPeriod 0 PageLimit 0 KLimit 0 OpPolicy default ErrorPolicy stop-printer Attribute marker-colors none Attribute marker-levels 7 Attribute marker-names Toner Cartridge HP C8061X Attribute marker-types toner Attribute marker-change-time 1302889340 </Printer> <snip> I doubt the printer config has anything to do with it since I can print fine with all other apps. Has anybody seen or heard of this type of problem before? I would like to collect as much info as I can to help the guys as the document foundation find out what is going on. So what say the printing gurus? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
