I just installed 11.4 with KDE (clean install, 32-bit version, off the DVD), and installed vlc which is my preferred choice as a multimedia application (for TV viewing, DVD viewing, capturing TV programs). However vlc will simply not start - the cursor bounces around but no vlc. I get the following error (extracted from session errors): OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 6600/AGP/SSE/3DNOW! Without vlc openSUSE 11.4 is useless to me. BTW, kaffeine 'works' except that the bug I reported a couple of years ago still hasn't been resolved (on certain digital channels there is no sound) so this, too, is of no use to me.
