In a previous thread I asked about hundreds of boot error messages from systemtap in my 11.4 x86 64 install. Chuck and Malcolm put me on the right track so I manned it, googled it and Wikied it. Now comes the question.
Why do I have it? Why do I need it? I am neither Developer nor Administrator. Is it part of a debugging program? I'm not planning on building any kernel modules or anything. And, if I don't need it, how do I get rid of it.
Please enlighten this old codger.
