[01-18-11 06:31]: Hello folks,
anybody understands this phenomenon:
mybox:~ # /usr/bin/zypper -qn install perl-https-daemon Package 'perl' not found. mybox:~ # LANG= zypper search perl | grep '^... perl ' i | perl | The Perl interpreter | package | perl | The Perl interpreter | srcpackage i | perl | perl: This update fixes a crash caused by the use ...| patch mybox:~ #
Why does zypper complain about the missing perl package when it is actually installed?
This is opensuse-11.3 with all updates installed.
zypper cannot find perl-https-daemon because it does not exist. Try: zypper -qn in perl-HTTPS-Daemon
Still, the error message about 'perl' not being found is misleading, at least. I'd suggest to open a bugzilla against zypper for this.
It is looking for the RpM package "perl" with version "https" and release "daemon" as last resort and does not find it. (e.g in the usual NAME-VERSION-RELEASE form, usually more like: perl-5.8-1.1) Ciao, MArcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
