As noted earlier, I'm using kernel 2.6.36.90 from HEAD, as I'd had problems with the standard 11.3 kernel (2.6.34) and the nvidia drivers. When I fired up YaST, it offered upgrades to both the driver and the KMP, which I accepted. Next time I tried to start X, the GUI failed because of an apparent mismatch between the KMP and the driver.
I know how to do it 'the hard way', but I was puzzled that the nvidia repo for openSUSE 11.3 offered the incompatible driver/KMP combination. But maybe they're not incompatible if you use the 2.6.34 kernel?
I am using kernel version 2.6.37-rc2 with nvidia drivers downloaded from nvidia repos. No problem here. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
