And your point is what? Do you start KDE and try to use it like Gnome using all the Gnome ways of doing things? No you don't.... you use Gnome as Gnome was designed to be used.... just like you use KDE4 as KDE 4.... _not_ as KDE3.
I disagree. I do KDE installs as many users try to use KDE/Gnome as if it were Windows, they don't know any different. I certainly tried to use KDE 4 and Gnome as KDE 3 when I started using it. That's what humans do. Once we figure out how to work with KDE 4 most people (not all) like it, but KDE 3 users are not yet acquainted with anything other than KDE 3 so that is how they use it.
In any case, instead of attacking Iliya let's thank him for mentioning the problems that he found and filing bugs. KDE 4 is still very problematic, but those of us who are used to it don't see that anymore. We need people like Iliya to show us the problems from the outside.
:-P wasn't meant as an attack. My apologies that it came across that way. I shouldn't fire off emails while I'm at work and distracted. People's KDE4 attempts fall over whenever they try to force it to be KDE3. The same thing happens when a Windows user tries to force any Linux DE to be Windows or OSX... it doesn't work, things break etc. A friend of mine "drinks the Apple koolaid" as I like to tease him by saying... he keeps trying Linux on his reg PC, and it always explodes in a myriad of weird ways that no one else can duplicate.. why? because he keeps trying to make it OSX. Doesn't work... yet... if you use any DE, regardless of which one it is, as it's designed to be used, it generally works quite well... like with KDE4... I learned that lesson early on... stopped fighting it, learned what it was trying to do, and the proverbial light bulb switched on... I think that's about the same time I stopped hating Gnome :-) I stopped trying to make Gnome be KDE.
