You should be fine running 11.3 on your machine. I installed 11.2 on a P90 with 128Mb some time ago just to prove that it was possible. You will need swap space during the installation though.
Last month I tried GUI 11.2 installation on a pre-partitioned/formatted PIII/600 with 192M RAM & 768M swap. It ground to a halt about 95% complete. Trying again with 384M RAM worked fine. I didn't think to check if swap was actually used during installation or not, assuming that existing swap if present would be found and used by YaST.
AFAIR, I didn't have to do anything to activate the swap.
