I just installed 11.3, simply to find out that there is no way to configure the X screens. Could someone please explain me why sax2 has been supressed?
This is conspicuously absent from the release notes. Why was announced 4 months ago on the Factory mailing list -> SaX2 has no maintainer.
Is there any tool to replace it?
The latest versions of Xorg and video drivers are supposed to cause automagic configuration on the fly on each X start for most hardware. Those for whom automagic doesn't work are left to their own devices to configure, most of which is apparently supposed to be done based upon xrandr and its cryptic man pages. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
