In opensuse 11.x I can't find BSD type pseudo-terminal master and slave devices ptyxx and ttyxx in /dev There are only unix-98 types /dev/ptmx but I need the first ones. What must I do ? Is now an optional from version 11.0 and later?
Why do you need those old ones? The usual PTY APIs should be used and will work fine. Reason none show up is because: CONFIG_LEGACY_PTY_COUNT=0 You can add to the boot kernel commandline the paramater: pty.legacy_count=64 to enable 64 of them if necessary.
