Has the (old Novell's) apparmour project moved to Ubuntu, then? (I know the main dev(s) "went" out of Novell long ago)
see http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Project_Hosting
Ahhhh... ] When Novell Forge was first launched Novell recognized the need for a site ] dedicated to providing hosting services to a growing number of software ] development projects, many supporting our open source initiatives. ... ] Now that there are many other options, Novell can turn its focus to ] other areas and pass the project hosting responsibilities to these other ] dedicated hosting sites. Novell will be decommissioning the Novell Forge ] system on March 1, 2010. What follows is a time line for this process ] which will allow owners of Novell Forge projects to locate new homes and ] make the transition to their new hosting site of choice. Well, that clarifies why any project there has to move out. The same as we oS translators had to move out to berlioz. I didn't know that. It is curious, though, that on the sidebar I get this: ] Project Highlight ] ] AppArmor is the most effective and easy-to-use Linux application ] security system available today. AppArmor proactively protects the ] operating system and applications from external or internal threats, ] even zero-day attacks, by enforcing good behavior and preventing even ] unknown application flaws from being exploited. Learn more about ] AppArmor Which is funny, as we are well beyond that time limit date on March. However, the last update on the AA link there is "AppArmor 2.3-Beta1 on 2008-07-22... which poses the new question, where has been AA hosted all this time, and then why the resubscription now, not then? :-? And new question... is 2.3 the last version? Because that's the version on oS 11.0 and 11.2. Has Ubuntu the same version? I'm afraid of seeking the answer and finding out that they have a newer version which we don't... I hope not. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
