No. A would like to be able to configure both cards. I dont't understand why one of the cards that worked before can not be configured now. In YAST both 'delete' and 'configure' buttons are grayed out for the RTL card. Why is this? And how could it be fixed?
problem with interrupts??? look at the bios
I checked which modules are loaded and found that 8139cp is loaded but 8139too is not. If I manually remove 8139cp and load 8139too the card becomes configurable. However after reboot the 8139cp is loaded again. How can it be set which module is loaded at boot?
Thanks, Istvan
I am certainly no expert on this, so I may be contradicted by someone on the list with more knowledge. But you might try doing this ~lsmod | grep r8139cp if you get an output that module is loaded, so then #rmmod r8139cp Then use the following to blacklist r8139cp #kate /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist at the bottom of the file, add the comment "blacklist r8139cp" without the quotation marks and then save the file. load the 8139too module as you have been doing, then ~lsmod | grep r8139too if you get an output it is loaded. then do the following #kate /etc/modprobe.conf in this file, make the following comment ############################################## #replacement network driver ############################################## alias ethX r8139too Of course you replace X in ethX in the comment above with the appropriate number ethernet card, then save the file. Then go into yast and configure your card, and select the r8139too module. Hopefully this will get you on the right track.
