I bought an HP Scanjet 2400 a while ago, obviously neglecting to check if it worked with Linux - which it doesn't (AFAICT). I would really like to get a new one, but one that works with Linux.
A week ago, I tried to find a scanner, too. There is a compatibility list of the sane project [0]. However, it seemed to me that there are no new USB scanners supported. Thus, I bought a used CanoScan LiDE 60 for 40€ (eBay). This one is supported by the genesys backend[1] and easily to install with YaST.
The scanjet has two buttons on the front - copy & scan. Those would be really handy to have working too. [...]
Buttons do not seem to work. :-( But I do not need them. :-) Gruß Jan [0] http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html [1] http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-genesys.5.html -- You cannot successfully determine beforehand which side of the bread to butter. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
