Hello: Unfortunaltely I have to set up a program that is available only for windows. The good part is that this program can run on windows 98. I have to print from this application with parallel port printer. I experimented with different virtual machines and found that only vmware workstation runs windows 98 with a decent speed. But vmware insists to use /dev/parport0 file for parallel port configuration, furthermore the removing of lp module. I am using openSUSE 10.3 which does not have /dev/parport0 and lp module is loaded by default and required for printing from linux. My question is how I could configure the system so that I could use vmware with printing function, and, after closing vmware, return everything to normal? Possibly without having to login as root and loading, unloading modules manually at every time I start and stop vmware. Relevant documentation: http://www.vmware.com/support/ws55/doc/ws_devices_parallel_configure_linux.h... http://forums.opensuse.org/hardware/392054-parallel-port-device-doesnt-exist...
