The latest update of the nvidia-gfxG02 driver from the NVIDIA Repository crashes X on my ThinkPad R61 with a Quadro M series graphics card. This is a known issue and was fixed in 185.18.36: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_185.18.36.html
Same for T61... How to solve this problem? By installing older version? How to do that with zypper (do not have X anymore...).
I used yast from tty1 to remove all these nvidia-packages. Then I rebooted and had a working X again. As a workaround you can install the latest G01 nvidia drivers, they still do work for me. There will be an update to .136, I hope that this will fix the problem: http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=533528 Gruß Jan -- Government can't change the course of the ship, it merely adjusts the compass. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
