Not at all. My point is perfectly valid. Your response was not exactly what I'd call helpful. You are right, his response wasn't the best after that, but you continue on. That's your choice. But when you continue to deny that your response of "To be honest, if you cannot handle package conflicts and don't have a clue about the repos, you should stick to whatever comes on the DVD and save you the trouble you will almost certainly run into." was uncalled for. And this was after you had tried to be helpful. That's the reason I made the response I did. Maybe instead of that remark, you should have given up and not replied. I try to help also, but when I realize that my suggestions can't help, or won't help for whatever reason, I just stop.
