I've got two problems with Avidemux. I take a video that I've recorded off the TV.
In what codec? Try 'midentify ORIGINALFILE' or 'mplayer -quiet -identify -frames 0 ORIGINALFILE'.
OK, I'll try this. But I think that the TV video is an mpeg file. There are two files one ending in .ts and the other .idx.
When I open it the view is 624x480 (ie normal) and the sound is correct. BUT after I cut the unwanted stuff out and then save it the view is 544x576
How do you have avidemux configured? Do you have "Video" and "Audio" (on the left) set to 'Copy' or to something else? Do you have any filters activated (Video -> Filters)?
I changed the Video from copy to the first choice on the list (don't remember at the moment which it is) and I leave the audio as is. BTW I'm just starting on doing video editing and having to learn all this stuff.
BTW: questions like this one are more suited in opensuse-multimedia.
Thanks for this, I was wanting to get on a video list, but did not know any. THANKS, JIM
