This is new.... I'm getting this on the KDE update applet - I had issues with it after a fresh install. Initially it was erroring out, complaining that the RPM database was locked by a process. I cleaned that up, and after a clean boot, it comes up and says packages need to be updated. If I click the red icon, then I see this error: ============================== DBus error : org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied : Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.21" (uid=1000 pid=4251 comm="/usr/bin/kupdateapplet ") interface="org.freedesktop.PackageKit.Transaction" member="WhatProvides" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.PackageKit" (uid=0 pid=23590 comm="/usr/sbin/packagekitd ")) ============================== So.. something is not quite right, but I am not sure what nor how to go about finding out exactly what is wrong.
