Greg,
Intel just solved the problem in 3D application with intel 965 card,
refer to this https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19242. Also
I write my report in
http://medwinz.blogsome.com/2009/01/17/new-patch-from-xorg-for-intel-g965-x3100-and-partially-for-gm45-x4500/

So if you sure you use 965 on 11.1, please update Mesa, libdrm and
xorg-x11 from openSUSE XOrg repositories
(http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.1/).
The new patch from Intel already included.

Just add the repositories in your yast and update with the new patch.
See if it works :-)

HTH (Hope That Helps)

regards,
medwinz

To add the repositories in my yast, do I download them and then go to
yast -> software -> repositories, and then click add, and then point to
the file I downloaded? Or is there some other way to do that?

thanks from the newb
george
