I guess your partition type should be ntfs and SuSE is using the
ntfs-3g driver.

Just try type umount /dev/sda2 and then ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /windows/D
to see if you can write to /windows/D.
Here is the list of commands:
1. Open konsole, type su, and enter the password as required
2. umount /dev/sda2
3. ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /windows/D
4. test if you can write to the partition(/windows/D) through normal
5. If all above is ok, type kate /etc/fstab, edit the line with
/dev/sda2 and /windows/D. Change it to this "/dev/sda2 /windows/D
ntfs-3g default 0 0". If you are not happy with this, you can also use

Sorry for my poor English, Hope you can understand it.

/your English seems just fine :)

here I tried the commands as you suggested:
linux-8rby:/home/george # umount /dev/sda2
linux-8rby:/home/george # ntfs-3g /dev/sda2/windows/D
ntfs-3g: Failed to access volume '/dev/sda2/windows/D': Not a directory
Please type 'ntfs-3g --help' for more information.

so I typed the help command and this is what I got:

linux-8rby:/home/george # ntfs-3g --help

ntfs-3g 1.5012 integrated FUSE 27 - Third Generation NTFS Driver

Copyright (C) 2006-2008 Szabolcs Szakacsits

Usage: ntfs-3g <device|image_file> <mount_point> [-o option[,...]]

Options: ro (read-only mount), force, remove_hiberfile, locale=,
uid=, gid=, umask=, fmask=, dmask=, streams_interface=.
Please see the details in the manual.

Example: ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt/win -o force

Question - did the 'umount' command do something so that I cannot read
the drive anymore? I cannot seem to see it in Dolphin now... is there a
way to get it back?
