is really there is no compelling reason to upgrade from a stable openSuSE 11.0 to 11.1?
I have a total of 5 computers here running OpenSUSE. All were previously running 11.0. I updated two to 11.1. I'll be reverting one back to 11.0, due to problems in 11.1. I'll leave one at 11.1, so I can still experiment, but that's my test system, which I don't use for anything other than trying new distros. My 3 major issues with 11.1 are Wake on Lan doesn't work, which kills 11.1 for my server. The partitioner, during install appears to make it impossible to install LVM on top of RAID and XDMCP is busted in that you can't access an 11.1 system from an 11.0. I haven't had enough time yet with 11.1 to find more issues, but I still don't care for KDE 4. One thing I did find nicer in 11.1 is when switching to a remote desktop, it takes fewer keystrokes and for some reason, that appears only with a new install and not an upgrade from 11.0. So, for the first time in my life, I'm reverting back to an older distro. Until the WoL & partitioner problems are resolved, I won't be using 11.1 on most of my systems. -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
