Hi List,
I installed OS11.1 KDE 4.1 yesterday and since then I have not been able to get the desktop to work in a manner I expect it to. The problem is that the desktop size (vertically) is more than the actual screen size. As a result I can not see the complete desktop. If I move the mouse pointer to the top edge of the screen, the taskbar slides down past the bottom edge of the screen and on moving the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen, the application's title bar moves past the top edge of the screen. Is it the normal behaviour or is it a new "feature"?
Regards
No, not at all.
What video card and what module do you have installed?
Video card is Intel 82810E CGC. Not sure how to find the module installed.
At konsole or an xterm window, post the results of the following commands:
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Mukui,
Ah hah! Here is your problem:
Section "Monitor" DisplaySize 408 255
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Your display size for 1440x900 should be "387 230". You can either edit the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file or use Yast->hardware->graphics and monitor, Then select change monitor and "Display Size" and set the correct height and width there and select 16:10.
If it were me, I would just edit the xorg.conf. I don't trust sax2 for the very reason you had to post this message to begin with.
