To be honest it was a few months ago when i was testing this but as i remember all i did was create an images and then restore it, didn't change anything after that. But i would test this first if you are unsure and as others have said make a backup of your docs. Also another tip is not to backup your Home folder with all your Documents when creating the image but back them up to something else ie external USB hard drive or NAS. This way you can create a CD/DVD of the system you like, that can be used to restore if you have any problems or get a new PC and want to put it on there, plus its quicker to than a fresh install.
