replace (mutandis mutandi) /vmlinuz-2.6.27.7-4-pae with /vmlinuz, and /initrd-2.6.27.7-4-pae with /initrd. Should work.
What is (mutandis mutandi) ?
A Latin expression used in maths, meaning changing what needs to be changed. Ie, don't take the expression literally.
Ok, thanks.
My menu.lst shows this:

So, if you use that, you must make sure that your kernel is indeed /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.25.16-0.1-default.
Using uname -a I think.
Next time, when you uninstall anything, think twice, and have a real hard look at what is going to be uninstalled. Don't just press "enter, enter, enter". This is not windows!
I'm not sure if I mentioned windows, but I might not remembering that.
I mean that don't click "accept" without reading first, as windows users do. You are the administrator and have a responsibility to know what you are doing.
