Hello,
Running BIND 9.3.2 for local network static dns entries and I want change it to accept dynamic entries for a windows active directory server. For starters, should dhcpd be running from the same server hosting ddns to accept updates? Can someone point me to a howto to set up Bind/dhcp to be a ddns server?
Many thanks in advance,
James
James, My cheat sheet covers it. You'll be up and running in 15 minutes. It doesn't matter where dhcpd is running, you will just set up a TSIG to allow updates to the DNS zones from whatever machine dhcpd happens to be running on. See sections 3 & 4: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/linux/howto/openSuSE_Server-Setup It's just a text file, so download it and hack it to you liking ;-) -- David C.
