10.2 to 10.3 - pure hell
You have to manually upgrade rpm and zypper before running zypper dup. You can find references to this in the factory list when the change to lzma was applied. And there are special rpm and zypper packages by coolo, that I mentioned in this very same thread the other day, which were made for this purpose.
- booting 10.3 installer from DVD is - say an adventure - at least when you can't do a fully virtualized boot on the system - it crashes when there is an XFS filesystem near, it does not recognize an ISO image given as CDROM as installation source (had to copy the contents to a virtual hard disc) ...
I don't know about virtualized, but in a real system it worked fine. Dunno about xfs as root filesystem... I think I heard somethings at the time. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
