Hello,
For the most part things went smooth. But like with any RC version, I have some bugs while using Open SuSE 11.1rc5 x64, KDE 4.1
On my new laptop I'm experiencing the following...
The iso image DVD doesn't show mounted under media in Dolphin, File Manager or in a terminal window. So there isn't any access to copy information from the device. It does however know it's there as an iso image for yast when doing software installations.
I cannot configure Wlan0. Yast can't access the below mentioned card to configure because I have the connection manager running. Under the connection manager, even un-configured, I can see the surrouding access points but cannot connect to them. It appears that that it doesn't even try to connect when I try to configure it within the manager. I have killed the connection manager then going back into Yast but now having Yast hang up while querying for DNS and Host Names. I have tried manually configuring in a terminal window but this has proved unsuccessful for me also. The end result is having no wifi capability. This one really has me scratching my head.
Installed Graphics.... The on board Intel chipset works out of the box with it's limited 3D support. I can run minor things include some of the nicer screen savers but don't expect to it be a gaming solution. The additional AMD/ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 isn't supported. Another thing is the option of autodetecting between the both doesn't seem to be there either.

Nothing like trying out a bleeding edge OS on a bleeding edge machine. Any suggestions on how to address the above?
Carlos is right, factory list is where you need to ask: opensuse-factory@opensuse.org Also, when you post there, also post the output of: lspci lsusb For your ATI problem, check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf. If you find that your card is listed as 'Driver "fbdev" ' then: (1) from a command line, as root, execute: modprobe -v radeon if the module is loaded, then do depmod -A (2) make a copy of your xorg.conf, call it xorg.conf.sav; and (3) edit your current xorg.conf change "fbdev" to "radeon", (4) then log out and then log back in. If that helps, good. We all will have to wait a little longer for the "fglrx" ATI driver package to be released for 11.1. Good luck. -- David C.
