Hello folks! Two queries prior to a second attempt to move from 10.3 to 11: 1. Has any anyone managed to painlessly install VMWare Workstation 6.5 under 11 (i.e. without the gcc version problem that plagued 6.0.x)? (The point of the question is, that unless VMWare 6.5 goes up under 11 without problems, I'll have to stay with 10.3. My system is a production system.) Incidentally, VMWare 6.5 installed like a charm on 10.3, inherited my previous settings and seems to have hidden away all the module compilation someplace. 2. Since SUSE 7 (I think) I have been using a panning screen, effected by adding a line to the appropriate subsections of Section "Screen" in xorg.conf: Virtual 1600 1200 (For SUSE old-timers: You could once upon a time do that through SAX but not any more.) Among other things, it makes working under the Win XP VMWare client tolerable, and pops the eyes out of friends who visit my office ....) Unfortunately, 11 does not seem to honor the virtual statement any more. Again, has anyone else met/solved this problem? For what it's worth, I upgraded 10.3 to 11. Would a fresh install (ugh!) solve the problem? (I can't imagine why, but sometimes the unexpected and illogical work wonders ...) Regards, Daniel
